Over the first month of school, I administered a comprehensive spelling assessment that gave me data on your child’s strengths and weaknesses in spelling. Using this data, I have created four spelling groups. Each group will meet with me twice a week during Intervention Time. One time, I will be giving them their words for the week and teaching a word study lesson. The other day, they will be doing work with their words.
Your child will bring home a letter on the day I meet with them this week.
The spelling test will be on the same day of the week...one week later. This will give you the weekend to study the words.
If there is a week that we DO NOT have spelling work, I will send home a note to let you know. Please let me know if you have questions.
