Sept. 13-17 Newsletter
This week for social studies we are learning the words rural, urban and suburban. We will have a short quiz over these words on Friday.
In math, we are working on addition and subtraction strategies and counting coin combinations.
We are LOVING all the Kevin Henkes books! We have read many in class, listened to some on the computer and named our table groups after characters in the books.
Look for pictures to be posted online SOON. (I had a little glitch that I am working on!)
Grandparent’s Day Celebration
This Wednesday, Sept. 15th, at 9:00am
Thanks for the work in the Writer’s Notebook. We had a fun time decorating the covers and they look fantastic! These will be put to good use during Writer’s Workshop time each day. I will send them home again in a few weeks so your child can add more story ideas to the sections.
Homework: Homework is due on Friday, but can be sent back anytime. I hope this system is working for you all!
Math Worksheets Unit 1 p. 19 & 20
Reading Log: Please fill in for each night that your child spends time reading or writing. A good goal is 15 minutes (or more!), 3 times a week. The chart for this was sent home on Monday on the bottom of the newsletter.
